The Yadkin Valley United Fund has reached 85% of their 2020 goal of $190,000, announced Executive Director David Steelman on Nov. 14.

Steelman said United Fund has received pledges and donations from over 700 businesses and individuals which total over $162,000 as of that date. The campaign will continue for a few more months.

The 2020 banquet for $600+ donors, businesses who promote and allow payroll deduction, and the current YVUF board members will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Cedarbrook Country Club.

Steelman would like to thank the 22 restaurants who participated in the Dine Out every Thursday in September and October. Over $6,000 was raised by 67 Pizza, Dodge City, Lafuente, Breakfastime, Harrys, Cedarbrook Grill, Pirates Landing, Speedy Chef, Southern on Main, John Boys, Prime Thai, Mazzinis, Shiki of Elkin, Bojangles, Angry Troll Brewing, Theos, Cagneys, Nanas Family Restaurant, Royalls Soda Shoppe, El Ahorro, Wood Box BBQ, and Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital/Sodexco.

Steelman also acknowledged and thanked businesses which allow and promote payroll deduction: PVH, Weyerhaeuser, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Elkin City Schools, G & B Energy, Duke Energy, Town of Elkin, BB&T, FNB, Wells Fargo, Frontier Natural Gas and YVEDDI.
